Paranormals by Gedeon Maheux
When he was growing up, the foreman loved to watch a show called “In Search Of…”. The show was hosted by Leonard Nimoy and was a quasi-documentary style show that examined various bizarre creatures, myths, legends & places each week. All the familiar topics like Bigfoot, the Bermuda Triangle, UFO’s, Atlantis & the Loch Ness Monster were tackled, and boy did I love it. I also lived for those Saturday afternoon spooky documentary films hosted by the likes of Rod Serling and Orson Welles. I remember one about Bigfoot that gave me nightmares for a week!
When Kyle Mizokami wrote and suggested a set of icons based around myths and legends like Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster, I jumped at the chance. With his help, I’ve put together a small set of some of the best known “Paranormals”, as well as lesser known, but no less spooky characters like the Kentucky Goblin, the Flatwood Monster and Mothman. Throw these together along with some flying saucers, mysterious places like Easter Island and the Face on Mars and you’ve got yourself some icons baby!
The enclosed folder contains 20 icons based on popular paranormal characters, events and places for use on your Macintosh desktop. These icons are for anyone who considers themselves to be “Armchair Investigators” of the unexplained. The set is broken down into several categories: UFO’s, Aliens, Mysterious Creatures, Monsters, Crop Circles & Mysterious Places. We’ve also provided you with this handy reference guide so you can read the background on your favorite Paranormal icon as well as find additional info on the web. Enjoy!
